Thank you for viewing this item! Koalas are arboreal herbivores native to eastern Australia. Though they resemble bears, koalas are marsupials—mammals that give birth to live young which complete their development in the mother’s pouch. Once numbering in the millions, fewer than 10,000 koalas remain in the wild today. Spending most of their lives in eucalyptus trees, they feed primarily on nutrient-poor eucalyptus leaves, requiring strong jaws and teeth to chew these tough leaves into a digestible paste. Their large noses and sensitive olfactory systems help them select the most nutritious leaves for survival.
This life-sized, accurate koala skull replica is based on detailed CT scans and features a two-part design with separate cranium and jaw.
Key Features:
• Life-size replica with true anatomical proportions
• Two-piece construction: removable cranium and jaw
• Weighted and textured for a realistic, bone-like feel
• Assembled and finished by hand in Western Australia
This skull is part of our curated collection of anatomically faithful replicas — designed to inspire curiosity and appreciation for the natural world.
